The public are welcome to join celebrations marking the ninth anniversary of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region on July 1.
A flag-raising ceremony will be held at Golden Bauhinia Square in Wan Chai at 8am. Chief Executive Donald Tsang will join 2,500 guests and 1,000 members of the public at the ceremony.
The Police band and a choir will perform at the ceremony, followed by the disciplined services sea parade and fly-by.
The square and its vicinity will be designated a restricted zone by Police to ensure smooth running of the ceremony. Only holders of valid passes can enter.
Mr Tsang will later attend a reception at the Convention & Exhibition Centre. About 1,200 guests, including members of the Executive and Legislative Councils, consular corps, heads of missions in Hong Kong, senior Government officials and members of various community sectors, will attend.
