The Centre for Health Protection has confirmed two cases of Legionnaires' disease involving a 68-year-old man and an 80-year-old woman, bringing this year's total to eight.
The Wong Tai Sin man developed fever and shortness of breath on May 4 and was admitted to Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital two days later in stable condition.
The second patient, from Eastern District, developed fever and shortness of breath on May 2 and was admitted Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital on May 6. She has recovered and has been discharged from hospital.
Their family members have no symptoms.
Eleven cases of Legionnaires' disease were reported last year.
