The Leisure & Cultural Services Department is inviting schools to join a new round of schemes designed to cultivate students' creativity and interest in performing arts and cultural activities.
Launched in 2001, the School Culture Day Scheme has attracted more than 570,000 students from 850 schools who participate in activities such as performing arts, museum visits and library events held at the department's facilities.
The School Arts Animateur Scheme holds workshops, demonstrations, performances and exhibitions. Last year 46,000 students from 77 schools participated.
For 2006-07, the arts groups cooperating with the department are:
* City Contemporary Dance Company;
* Hong Kong Ballet;
* International Association of Theatre Critics (Hong Kong);
* DanceArt;
* Zuni Icosahedron;
* Prospects Theatre;
* Exploration Theatre;
* Shu Ning Presentation Unit; and
* Class 7A Drama Group.
