People will have a chance to climb the famous bun tower on Cheung Chau on April 30, the Leisure & Cultural Services Department says.
By making onsite applications for the Bun Tower Climbing Challenge, they can enjoy the fun and excitement of climbing the 14-metre tower used for the famous Bun Scrambling Competition.
The challenge is divided into four groups - the Master Group (aged 35 or above), Adult Group (aged 18 to 34), Youth Group (aged below 18 and at least one metre tall), and Family Group (a team of two and each member must be at least one metre tall).
The challenge, running from 11am to 5pm, will have six sessions, with each session lasting for an hour. Participants who can reach the designated height on the tower in the shortest time will be the winners. Souvenirs will be awarded to the winners in each session.
People can enjoy variety shows like magic performances and traditional Chinese entertainment at the Bun Carnival and will have the chance to get special souvenirs. The Hong Kong Mountaineering Union will give climbing demonstrations and there will also be traditional Chinese arts and crafts stalls.
Meanwhile, the Bun Scrambling Competition's final will be held on May 5. For more information call 2852 3220 or visit the department's website.
