Woman ill with Dengue fever
*
Centre for Health Protection

The Centre for Health Protection has confirmed Dengue fever in a 25-year-old woman, bringing the year's total cases to nine, all imported.

She came down with fever, headache, and muscle and joint pain on April 7. She travelled to Indonesia January 28 to April 7. She is in hospital in stable condition. Her family members have no symptoms.

People should stay alert to the threat of Dengue fever and take measures against mosquito breeding. Travellers should wear long-sleeved tops and trousers, and use insect repellent. If feeling unwell after returning from abroad, consult a doctor.
