Forty-three students and a staff member of a Southern District primary school have come down with gastroenteritis symptoms since February 15.
The 27 males and 17 females, aged 8 to 61, are in stable condition. One was admitted to the Sanitorium & Hospital and 14 others consulted doctors.
Viral gastroenteritis is the likely cause for the outbreak, the Centre for Health Protection said. Further investigations are underway. The centre's staff visited the school premises today and provided its management with health advice.
