Lantern carnival

Luminous lantern: The Spring Lantern Festival carnivals will be held February 10 to 12.

*

The New Territories West Lunar New Year Lantern Carnival at Tuen Mun Park has attracted large crowds to enjoy the festive celebrations.

The carnival, which runs from 7.30pm to 10.30pm tonight, features lanterns depicting the legendary Four Beauties, deer and pandas.

Other programmes include music, dance, magic, Cantonese opera excerpts, quizzes, fortune telling and other entertainment.

Two other lantern carnivals will be held tomorrow and Sunday. Sai Kung Wan Man Road Playground will stage the carnival on February 11 from 6.30pm to 9.30pm.

February 12 will see the carnival in Ko Shan with peony, peacock and goldfish lanterns accompanied by a giant seven-metre one from 7.30pm to 10.30pm.

Meanwhile, the Radiant Romance lantern display will light up Kowloon Park until February 26.
