Tuen Mun Jockey Club Yan Oi Tong Swimming Pool and Old Cafeteria Beach have been closed due to the lifeguard union's strike today, the Leisure & Cultural Services Department says.

However, of the other 29 public pools, 19 are fully open and 10 - Pao Yue Kong, Kennedy Town, Lai Chi Kok Park, Kowloon Park, Hammer Hill Road, Shing Mun Valley, North Kwai Chung Jockey Club, Tsing Yi, Tai Po, and Tseung Kwan O - are partly open.

Of the 32 public beaches, 22 are open as normal, except Old Cafeteria Beach, and nine others which have red flags hoisted. Call 1823 or browse the department's website for information.

Visiting Victoria Park pool today, Director of Leisure & Cultural Services Anissa Wong said the department will enhance communication with the union, and a working group will be formed to enhance lifeguards' professionalism.
