Chief Secretary for Administration Donald Tsang has praised the winners of the World City - My City essay and photo competition for their concern about Hong Kong, adding that their entries are brimming with care and yearning for the city.
Speaking at the contest's prize presentation today, Mr Tsang said the contestants have shown deep insight and objective analysis in portraying the most touching aspects of Hong Kong with an innovative and progressive approach.
"The spirit displayed by the contestants is the reason for Hong Kong's success. I believe every member of our family will find inspiration in their essays and photos. We love our family; we care about our society. We dare to blaze new trails and to build Hong Kong and reinforce its position as Asia's world city," he said.
The competition was run by the Information Services Department, Sing Tao Daily and RTHK between February 14 and March 18. A total of 700 essays and 179 photos in junior (10-12), youth (13-17) and open (18 or above) categories were received.
Essay winners were Lam Chi-wing (Junior), Tsang Fan-yu (Youth) and Tsang Hing-tung (Open). Photo winners were Yuen Wan-yip (Junior), Cheng Chi-yan (Youth) and Poon Chi-leung (Open). The winning entries can be seen here.
