Society asked to clarify storybook info

*

The Housing, Planning & Lands Bureau has asked the Society for the Protection of the Harbour to clarify a number of misleading details in a children's storybook the Society has published to highlight the need for harbour protection.

The bureau noted the book, The Adventures of Victoria, covers a number of issues related to harbour reclamation but some of the points do not tally with the facts.

The bureau stressed young readers should be provided with correct facts and figures about Victoria Harbour, and it is important to ensure that the information contained in the book is factually correct and unbiased.

The Government has been working closely with the Harbour-front Enhancement Committee, of which the Society is also a member.

The bureau reiterated its commitment to protecting the harbour, and planning and land-use objectives are geared towards this mission to make the harbourfront a vibrant and accessible place for residents and visitors alike.
