Flu consultations fall at gov't clinics
*
Centre for Health Protection

Consultation rates for flu-like-illness in government out-patient clinics for the week ending April 2 fell 62% over a week earlier to 7.5 per 1,000 consultations, while the figure among private doctors rose about 2% to 83.1.

Centre for Health Protection Community Medicine Consultant Dr Thomas Tsang said influenza outbreaks in four institutions involving about 30 people were confirmed during the period.

Dr Tsang said the consultation rates for flu-like illness still stand at a relatively high level though no significant increases were seen last week.

He called on people to remain vigilant against influenza and respiratory tract infections, adding people should strictly observe personal and environmental hygiene.
