*

Secretary for Home Affairs Dr Patrick Ho says the commission is an umbrella organisation, which will help realise a new visions for sports in Hong Kong in three major aspects -- sports for all, turning Hong Kong into a sports events capital and sports excellence.

The new sports administrative structure marks an important milestone for sports development in Hong Kong as it will take a holistic approach to advising the Government on the overall policy planning, coordination, monitoring and resource deployment of sports development, he said.

Dr Ho said by pooling expertise and experience in sports from different sectors of the community, the commission was set to embark on a promising sporting future.
