Secretary for Home Affairs Dr Patrick Ho will lead a delegation from the cultural industry and Asian cultural officials to visit Hong Kong's exhibition at the First Shenzhen International Cultural Industry Fair on November 18.
Dr Ho will officiate at the opening ceremony of the 280-square-metre Hong Kong Cultural Industry Pavilion at the China Hi-Tech Fair Exhibition Centre. The ceremony will follow the fair's opening.
The delegation will meet Shenzhen Mayor Li Hongzhong to exchange views on closer co-operation between the two cities' creative professionals and enterprises.
A creative first
The pavilion, the first in Guangdong, is jointly organised by the Home Affairs Bureau and the Information Services Department to promote Hong Kong as the regional hub for creativity and design.
It also provides a platform for Hong Kong's cultural industries to tap opportunities arising from the Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement and Pan-Pearl River Delta co-operation.
The pavilion will showcase the latest initiatives, award-winning items and outstanding products and designs of five Hong Kong creative industries - publishing, design, printing, comics and digital entertainment. It will also show the Government's initiatives in promoting the development of cultural industries in Hong Kong and in forging co-operation with Pearl River Delta cities.
