Local avian flu experts visit Thailand

Centre for Health Protection Controller Dr Leung Pak-yin led a team of experts to Bangkok on Tuesday to meet their Thai counterparts to discuss the country's current avian influenza situation.

 

The team will meet medical and public health professionals of the Ministry of Public Health's Department of Disease Control as well as the Ministry of Agriculture's Department of Livestock Development during the two-day visit.

 

Members of the expert team include the University of Hong Kong's Microbiology Department  Head Professor Yuen Kwok-yung, Centre for Health Protection Consultant Dr Thomas Tsang, the Agriculture, Fisheries & Conservation Department's Senior Veterinary Officer Dr Howard Wong, and the Hospital Authority's Senior Medical Officer Dr Chu Chung-ming.
