Workshops to garner development views

*

Eleven workshops will be held over the next six weeks to enable different sectors and communities to discuss issues raised in the Invitation & Response document.

The workshops form part of the engagement process being launched by the Council for Sustainable Development aiming to involve the community in building a Sustainable Development strategy for Hong Kong.

This strategy initially will focus on three pilot areas, namely solid waste management, renewable energy and urban living space. The issues involved are contained in the Invitation & Response - Sustainable Development: Making Choices for Our Future document issued in July.

The workshops aim to provide a platform for open exchange of views on the pilot areas, address the key questions raised in the document, and identify possible ways forward for a sustainable development strategy.

Feedback from the workshops will help form the basis of a report by the council to the Government early next year on how to take forward Hong Kong's sustainable development strategy, with particular focus on the three pilot areas.

Enrolment and enquiries can be made via email (enquiry@susdev.org.hk) or fax (3150 8168).
