The Department of Health has ordered the recall of four Chinese medicine products containing trace levels of Western drug ingredient Ephedrine.
The products are manufactured by Sheng Chun Tang Pharmaceutical Industrial Company of Taiwan and imported by May Fair Medical Supplies.
The products are not registered under the Pharmacy & Poisons Ordinance and the importer must recall them from about 250 Chinese medicine practitioners, clinics and retailers, and surrender them to the department.
Noting the level of Ephedrine in the products is very low, the department said they are unlikely to cause adverse health effects.
Consumers call the department on 2319 2839 or the importer on 2721 0291 for more information.
