Lifeguard union invited to join working groups
*
Leisure & Cultural Services Department

The Leisure & Cultural Services Department has written to the Hong Kong & Kowloon Life Guards Union to propose details on setting up two working groups to study salary levels and review the lifeguard establishment. The union has also been invited to join the groups.

Responding to enquiries today, the department said the working groups will study the mechanism for determining the salary level of temporary contract lifeguards for the coming year and review the department's lifeguard establishment.

The union has been invited to send representatives to join the working groups and discuss the proposed terms of reference stated in the letter.

The letter also gives information about the mechanism and principles for working out the salary level of temporary contract lifeguards this year and the existing lifeguard establishment.

A reply from the union is awaited and working group meetings can be convened as soon as dates are mutually agreed.
