The Leisure & Cultural Services Department is inviting applications for the Community Cultural Ambassador Scheme 2005.
The scheme will see the department join local artists and performing arts organisations in a series of outreach activities throughout Hong Kong.
It aims to promote performing arts and make it more accessible at the district level by inviting arts enthusiasts to serve as Community Cultural Ambassadors. It also aims to encourage performing artists to make contact with different sectors of the community.
Applicants should be local non-profit performance companies or artistic ensembles of proven experience and artistic merit that have been active in the past three years.
Proposed activities should cover one or more of the following art forms: opera/operatic singing, dance, music, theatrical art (including drama, mime, magic, puppetry) and multi-arts. Approaches can include performance, workshops, demonstrations or lectures, and exhibitions.
Application forms and guides are available at the Cultural Centre, City Hall, Sha Tin Town Hall, Kwai Tsing Theatre, Yuen Long Theatre, Tuen Mun Town Hall, Sai Wan Ho Civic Centre, the department's Audience Building Office (Cultural Centre, 10 Salisbury Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon), and the department's website.
The applicatoin deadline is August 26. Completed forms with supporting information and documents relevant to the proposed activity should be submitted to the above office. Please mark 'Community Cultural Ambassador Scheme 2005' on the envelope. For enquiries, call 2268 7321.
