Imported Dengue case reported
*
Department of Health

The Department of Health has confirmed today one more imported case of Dengue fever, which involves a 37-year-old man. So far this year, 11 cases have been reported in Hong Kong, all imported.

The man developed fever, headache, joint pain and skin rash on May 4 after returning from a Southeast Asian country on April 30. He has now recovered and been discharged from hospital.

The department appealed to people, including travellers, to stay alert to the threat of Dengue fever and take all precautions to avoid mosquito bites.

Travellers feeling unwell after returning from their trip should consult a doctor as soon as possible and provide details of their travel.

The latest Dengue information can be found on the department's Travellers' Health Service website.
