Health care fund invites applications
*

The Health, Welfare & Food Bureau is inviting applications for funding under the Health Care & Promotion Fund.

The invitation is specifically aimed at non-research health-promotion projects from non-profit-making organisations, registered community groups or groups formed under registered non-profit-making bodies.

Established in May 1995, the fund aims to raise awareness of the importance of health promotion and disease prevention.

It supports projects that help people adopt healthier lifestyles by enhancing awareness, changing behaviour or creating an environment that supports good health practices.

Funding consideration will be given to projects which emphasise community participation or community development.

The closing date for applications is June 30. All applications will be assessed by the fund's committee and its sub-committee, comprising healthcare professionals, individuals closely involved in community affairs and Government representatives.

Successful applicants may be awarded full or partial support normally not exceeding $500,000 on a one-off basis.

Guidelines and application forms can be obtained from the bureau's Research Fund Secretariat on 18/F, Murray Building, Garden Road, Central or its website.

Enquiries can be made by fax at 3150 8993 or by email to rfs@hwfb.gov.hk.
