The Department of Health is looking into the cases of 10 patients in Prince of Wales Hospital Ward 8A who have developed fever.

Laboratory tests have been conducted, including those for SARS and influenza, to identify the cause of illness.

The Hospital Authority said the influenza A tests yielded negative results, adding that the coronavirus tests for five of the patients also showed negative results.

The coronavirus tests for the remaining five patients are still being conducted.

There have been no reports of abnormal sickness among staff and infection-control measures have been implemented in the ward.
