Department of Health

The Department of Health has confirmed two more imported Dengue fever cases, bringing the total to 47.

One victim, a man aged 52, visited a Southeast Asian country between December 8 and 20. He got a fever, headache, muscle pain and rash on December 18 and has now recovered.

The other case involved a 22-year-old man, who travelled to a South Asian country from mid-November to December 11.

He had fever, headache and eye pain on December 14. He was admitted to Ruttonjee Hospital on December 18 and discharged on December 22.

The department called on the public to stay alert against the disease and take precautions. For prevention tips, click here.

This year the department has received 48 Dengue fever cases and all but one have been imported.
