Cold shelters open for those in need

Home Affairs Department

The Home Affairs Department has opened 12 temporary shelters for people in need of shelter from the cold. Temperatures are expected to drop to 12 degrees Celsius tonight, or lower in the New Territories. It will be even colder over the weekend.

 

Anyone seeking temporary refuge may call the Department's Emergency Co-ordination Centre on 2835 1473 for more information.

 

The temporary cold shelters are located at:

* Central and Sai Ying Pun Community Hall

* Eastern/Causeway Bay Community Centre

* Kowloon City To Kwa Wan Kaifong Welfare Association

* Wong Tai Sin Tsz Wan Shan (South) Estate Community Centre

* Sham Shui Po Nam Cheong District Community Centre

* Yau Tsim Mong Henry G Leong Yau Ma Tei Community Centre

* Tai Po Community Centre

* Kwun Tong Lam Tin (West) Estate Community

Centre

* Tsuen Wan Lei Muk Shue Community Hall

* Yuen Long Town Hall

* North Cheung Wah Community Hall

* Tuen Mun Butterfly Bay Community Centre
