The Food & Environmental Hygiene Department has decided to extend the rental freeze for all public markets to the end of next year.

Rentals in public markets were reduced by 30% in 1998 and have been frozen since then. 

The last extension of the rental freeze was announced in November last year when the Government decided to extend the freeze to the end of this year.
