Also present at the ceremony are Disney characters Rafiki and Mickey Mouse, plus a support cast of youngsters and officials.

The show is jointly organised by the Home Affairs Bureau and the Walt Disney Company (Asia Pacific) as part of the Government's campaign to relaunch Hong Kong.

Secretary for Home Affairs Dr Patrick Ho said the event is to bring out the message that life is back to normal in Hong Kong.

President & Managing Director of Walt Disney International Asia Pacific Jon Niermann said: "The story of the Lion King epitomises courage in the face of adversity and the strength of the human spirit - qualities that Hong Kong has revealed time and time again."

Disney's Family Movie Night will run from 6pm to 9.15pm. The evening will start with pre-show acitivities, followed by Mickey's Magical Moments around 7.30pm.

The live show, in English, will feature Disney characters such as Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, Pluto, Buzz Lightyear, Winnie the Pooh, Disney's Princesses as well as Rafiki and Simba from the Lion King.

The film, which has won many international awards ranging from best animation, best original score and song, to best choreography, will be dubbed into Cantonese and shown at 8pm on a giant screen.
