Water rated 'good' at 2 beaches
*
Environmental Protection Department

The Environmental Protection Department has rated water quality at two beaches 'good', 25 'fair' and six 'poor' for this weekend.

Compared with last week, Middle Bay Beach, South Bay Beach and Tong Fuk Beach have been downgraded from 'good' to 'fair'. Silver Mine Bay Beach has been downgraded from 'fair' to 'poor'.

Seven gazetted beaches - Anglers', Approach, Ting Kau, Casam, Gemini, Hoi Mei Wan and Lido - are closed to swimmers year-round because of poor water quality. People should not swim at these beaches.

Bathers should avoid swimming at beaches for up to three days after a storm or heavy rainfall.
