2 greening forums to be held

*
Civil Engineering & Development Department

The Civil Engineering & Development Department will stage two forums in April to gauge views on the greening master plans for Eastern District and Wong Tai Sin.

The Eastern District community forum will be held in Quarry Bay Community Hall on April 9 from 7pm to 9pm. The Wong Tai Sin community forum will be held in Wong Tai Sin Community Centre on April 10 from 7pm to 9pm.

People are welcome to air their views, including greening themes, locations for planting and planting species. They can call 2905 8652 to reserve seats. Reservations can also be made by filling in the enrollment forms here.

The greening master plans will define the overall greening framework of the areas and serve as a guide for those involved in planning, design and implementation of greening works.

The department has completed the greening master plans for Tsim Sha Tsui and Central, with about 1,250 trees and 300,000 shrubs planted. The greening master plans for Mong Kok, Yau Ma Tei, Sheung Wan, Wan Chai and Causeway Bay will be implemented in mid-2008 for completion at the end of 2009.
