Water rated 'good' at 7 beaches
*
Environmental Protection Department

The Environmental Protection Department has rated water quality at seven beaches 'good' for this weekend.

They are Clear Water Bay Second, Deep Water Bay, Silverstrand, Big Wave Bay, Middle Bay, Repulse Bay and Stanley Main Beaches.

Water quality at Golden Beach is rated 'fair', changed from 'good' last week. The department said the change is within the normal range of the bacteriological water quality fluctuation.

Seven beaches - Anglers', Approach, Ting Kau, Casam, Gemini, Hoi Mei Wan and Lido - are closed to swimmers year round because of poor water quality. People should not swim at these beaches.

Bathers should avoid swimming at beaches for up to three days after a storm or heavy rainfall.

For beach water quality updates, click here, or call 2511 6666.
