35 convicted for pollution offences in Feb

Environmental Protection Department

The Environmental Protection Department recorded 35 convictions in February for breaches of anti-pollution legislation.

 

There were 13 convictions for air pollution, 11 for waste disposal, 10 for noise and one for water pollution.

 

The heaviest fine of $28,000 was meted out to a company for using powered mechanical equipment that breached permit conditions.
