Edward Yau to visit Japan
*

Secretary for the Environment Edward Yau will visit Japan until November 7 to promote Hong Kong's environmental protection efforts and see the country's advanced waste incineration and clean vehicle manufacturing technologies.

Mr Yau will meet senior officials from the Ministry of the Environment, the Agency for Natural Resources & Energy and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government to exchange views on environmental protection, energy policy, promoting renewable energy and energy efficiency.

He will also visit advanced waste incineration facilities in Tokyo and Osaka, and a car production centre in Nagoya.

Mr Yau will deliver a keynote speech at a luncheon seminar organised by Keizai Doyukai on Hong Kong's approach in striking a balance between environmental protection and sustainable development.
