Deputy Director of Environmental Protection Dr Mike Chiu signed the Co-operation Arrangement on Control of Waste Movements with State Environmental Protection Administration Pollution Control Department Director Fan Yuansheng in Shenzhen today.

The arrangement includes supplementary provisions on applications and approval procedures regarding waste shipments overseas via ports in Hong Kong and the Mainland.

The arrangement is effective immediately.
