The French version of the online World Weather Information Service (http://www.meteo.fr/wwis) has been launched offering forecasts for 1,146 cities.

Hong Kong Observatory Director Lam Chiu-ying said the site reflects the close co-operation among meteorologists in providing official and up-to-date weather information to a global audience, despite of the great diversity in technical capability of World Meteorological Organisation members.

Visitors to the Observatory's website can reach the French version by clicking the "WWIS" icon and then choosing the "Francais" icon there. Alternatively, visitors can go to the WWIS website in English and click "Francais" there.
