7 beaches rated 'good' this weekend
*
Environmental Protection Department

Water quality at seven of the eight beaches open to swimmers for the winter has been rated 'good' for this weekend.

They are:

* Big Wave Bay Beach

* Clear Water Bay Second Beach;

* Deep Water Bay Beach;

* Golden Beach;

* Middle Bay Beach;

* Repulse Bay Beach; and,

* Stanley Main Beach.

Silverstrand Beach has been rated 'fair'.

Compared with last week, Big Wave Bay Beach was upgraded from fair to good.

Seven gazetted beaches - Anglers', Approach, Ting Kau, Casam, Gemini, Hoi Mei Wan and Lido - are closed to swimmers year round because of poor water quality.

For updates on beach water quality call the beach hotline 2511 6666.
