20 convicted for pollution offences

Environmental Protection Department

The Environmental Protection Department issued 20 prosecutions last month for breaches of anti-pollution legislation.

 

Five were for air pollution, five for noise, five for waste disposal, four for water pollution and one for dumping at sea.

 

The heaviest fine of $50,000 was meted out to a company for contravening the provisions of a licence.
