Stock exchange urged to review data access
*

The Securities & Futures Commission has recommended the Stock Exchange review how to make the information it discloses about its practices, procedures and decisions more readily accessible to both experienced market professionals and less-frequent users.

In its annual performance review the commission said the exchange has taken steps to revamp its website section containing rules and guidance on listing matters.

Upon completion of the exercise, the exchange's information on listing-related matters will be organised in a more systematic and user-friendly manner. Over the medium term the exchange will develop an email alert function to notify subscribers of its latest publications.

Welcoming the report, the Financial Services & the Treasury Bureau said the proposed measures will enhance transparency.

The exchange is also taking new measures to canvass views from, and interact with, the market to engage it at various stages of policy making for listing matters. The measures will strengthen communication between the exchange and the market, facilitating the formulation of new listing rules.
