Chief Secretary Henry Tang will lead a Hong Kong business delegation to Chengdu on December 7 to promote exchanges between the two places' business and services sectors, and support Sichuan's post-quake economic recovery.

The group will attend the Hong Kong-Sichuan Business Cooperation Symposium, call on provincial government leaders, visit enterprises and related commercial projects in Chengdu, and learn about the progress of Sichuan's economic recovery.

The group includes Permanent Secretary for Constitutional & Mainland Affairs Joshua Law, Permanent Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development Yvonne Choi, Trade Development Council Executive Director Fred Lam, and about 80 representatives from major business associations and sectors in Hong Kong.

Mr Tang will return to Hong Kong on December 9. During his absence, Secretary for Education Michael Suen will be acting Chief Secretary.
