July building sales fall 24.8%

Land Registry

July saw 8,930 sale and purchase agreements for all types of building units received for registration. The Land Registry said this was a fall of 24.8% on June and a 19.7% dip on July last year.

 

Using a 12-month moving average the July figure fell 1.4% on June but rose 30.4% on last July.

 

The total consideration of these agreements was $32.7 billion, down 43.1% on June and 14% over a year earlier.

 

Of the 8,930 sale and purchase agreements 7,433 were for residential units, down 27.2% on June and 19.1% on last July.

 

The total consideration of these agreements fell 50.2% on June to $25.1 billion. Compared with the same period last year the figure dropped 12.5%.
