Competition consultation to end August 5
*

The Commerce & Economic Development Bureau has launched the three-month public consultation exercise on detailed proposals for a cross-sector competition law. Views must be submitted by August 5.

 

The consultation paper covers the basis of a competition law, including the proposed regulatory structure, types of prohibited conduct, penalties for infringing the law, the right to take private action, and criteria and mechanisms for granting exemptions and exclusions from the application of the law.

 

Stakeholders can submit their views by email, fax (2877 5650), or by post to Level 29, One Pacific Place, 88 Queensway, Hong Kong for attention of Division 2, Commerce, Industry & Tourism Branch.
