Two films get $5.2m in Gov't funding
*

Two film productions, "McDull WuDang" and "Claustrophobia", have been granted a total of $5.2 million funding under the Film Development Fund, the Hong Kong Film Development Council says.

The production budget for the animation film "McDull WuDang" is $12 million, while that for the feature film "Claustrophobia" is $5.4 million. The Government funding amounts to 30% of each film's budget.

The council's fund-vetting committee convenor Wilfred Wong said the committee looks forward to approving more film projects of different types, and to assist in revitalising and developing the local film industry.

In assessing the feasibility and marketability of a film project's application, the committee is assisted by six experts drawn from a panel of examiners, who are professionals in film production, sales and distribution.

The council also reviews the fund's operation.
