February building sales fall 15.3%

Land Registry

February saw 14,384 sale and purchase agreements for all types of building units received for registration. The Land Registry said this was a fall of 15.3% on January but a 56.6% rise on February last year.

 

Using a 12-month moving average the February figure rose 3.4% on January and 51.7% on February last year.

 

The total consideration of these agreements was $52 billion, down 23.3% on January but up 95.3% on the same period last year.

 

Of the 14,384 sale and purchase agreements 12,581 were for residential units, down 14.9% on January but up 61.2% on February last year.

 

The total consideration of these agreements fell 22.6% on January to $43.8 billion. Compared with the same period last year the figure surged 97.7%.
