All import-export declaration charges for parts and accessories for the maintenance of aircraft owned or chartered by locally-based airlines will be exempted from February 22, the Commerce & Economic Development Bureau says.

The Import & Export (Registration) (Amendment) Regulation 2008 will be tabled to lawmakers on Feburary 20 and gazetted February 22.

The proposed exemption covers the import declaration charges on articles used in the repair and maintenance of freight containers operated by local-based sea or air freight companies.
