More transactions: April saw 10,973 flat sale and purchase agreements, up 27.6% on a year earlier.

April saw 10,973 flat sale and purchase agreements, up 27.6% over a year earlier and 15.9% on March, the Land Registry says.

 

Using a 12-month moving average, the figure for April represented a 0.03% rise on a year earlier and 2.3% growth on March.

 

The total consideration of these agreements in the month was $43.6 billion, down 10.2% on a year earlier but up 36% over March.

 

Among the 10,973 sale and purchase pacts, 9,530 were for residential units, up 39.1% on last April and 18.5% on March. The total consideration of these agreements in the month was $39.4 billion, up 94.8% compared with the amount for last April and 56.6% on March.
