There were 930 bankruptcy petitions presented in August, down 1.4% from the July figure of 943, and a drop of 10.6% compared with last year's average monthly figure of 1,041.
The Official Receiver's Office said during the month, the court made 1,063 bankruptcy orders, up 370 from the previous month's figure of 693, and a drop of 6.1% on the average monthly figure of 1,133 last year.
