In July, the volume of Hong Kong's re-exports of goods rose 8% over the same month last year, with domestic exports up 0.4%. Taken together, the volume of total exports of goods rose 7.5%. Concurrently, the volume of imports of goods rose 4.6%.

 

Comparing the first seven months of 2005 with the same period last year, the volume of Hong Kong's re-exports of goods rose 11.2%, while domestic exports fell 7.2%. Taken together, the volume of total exports of goods grew 10%. Concurrently, the volume of imports of goods rose 5.9%.

 

Comparing the three-month period ending July with the preceding three, on a seasonally adjusted basis, the volume of total exports of goods rose 11%. Within this, the volume of re-exports rose 10.9%, with domestic exports up 13.3%. Concurrently, the volume of imports of goods rose 10.1%.

 

Comparing July 2005 with July 2004, the price of re-exports of goods rose 1.2%, and 2.6% for domestic exports. Taken together, the price of total exports of goods rose 1.3%. Concurrently, the price of imports of goods rose 2.7%.

 

For changes in the first seven months of 2005 over the same period last year, the price of re-exports of goods rose 1.7%, and those of domestic exports by 4.3%. Taken together, the price of total exports of goods rose 1.9%. Concurrently, the price of imports of goods rose 3.5%.
