Two task forces will be formed to oversee the review of pre-construction regulatory activities, and the retail sector's regulatory regime.
The Economic & Employment Council Subgroup on Business Facilitation made the decision at its second meeting today, deliberating on regulatory activities in the construction and real estate, retail trade and entertainment sectors.
Task force members will be drawn from the concerned trades and the council.
Members were also briefed on the progress of business facilitation work conducted by the Economic Analysis & Business Facilitation Unit in various other industries.
The Subgroup on Business Facilitation comprises 15 non-official council members who are Legislative Councillors, representatives of the business community and academics.
Its terms of reference are to develop a programme to systematically review the government regulatory framework to eliminate outdated and excessive regulations to facilitate business development and job creation.
