93.9% pass class language assessment

The percentage of candidates meeting the English language proficiency requirement are 66.2% in reading, 42.7% in writing, 71.9% in listening, 43.7% in speaking and 93.9% in classroom language assessment, the Examinations & Assessment Authority says.

 

Releasing the 2010 Language Proficiency Assessment for Teachers results today, the authority said 2,058 candidates sat for the English papers in February while 2,642 sat for the Putonghua papers.

 

The percentage of candidates meeting the language proficiency requirement in Putonghua was 52% in listening and recognition, 55% in pinyin, 51.2% in speaking and 75.9% in classroom language assessment.

 

The authority will issue result notices to candidates today. Those who do not receive them by May 27 should contact the authority on 3628 8860.

 

Applications for result rechecking will be accepted from May 27 to June 3. Candidates will be informed individually of their appeal results by June 25.
