1 dead, 2 injured in quarry accident

The Civil Engineering & Development Department and Labour Department are investigating an accident at Anderson Road Quarry in Sau Mau Ping today in which one worker was killed and two others injured.

 

At around 1.30pm, a five-metre high unused rock-crushing plant at the quarry collapsed while it was being dismantled, injuring the three workers. They were sent to United Christian Hospital where one of them later died.

 

Acting Director of Civil Engineering & Development Adrian Ng expressed condolences to deceased man's family. The department will offer assistance the victims' families.
