Putonghua activity grant applications open
*

The Standing Committee on Language Education & Research is inviting proposals for grants to organise Putonghua promotional activities next year targeting teachers, students and the general public.

The submission deadline is December 3.

At the Promotion of Putonghua 2009 finale show today, standing committee chairman Prof Cheng Kai-ming encouraged Hong Kong people to master Putonghua to maintain their competitive edge in the global economy.

The standing committee launched seven school-based and community-wide activities this year to promote lively learning and use of Putonghua. More than 7,000 people participated in these activities.
