Lecture on Charles Kao set for Dec 4

A free public lecture on Professor Charles Kao will be held at 3pm December 4 at Central Library in tribute to the academic for his achievements in optical fibre communication technology which won him the Nobel Physics Prize this year.

 

Three scholars will share their anecdotes on Prof Kao and explain optical fibre communication technology. They are Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the Chinese University Prof Ching Pak-chung, Adjunct Professor of the Department of Building & Construction of the City University Dr Albert So, and Professor of the Department of Information Engineering of the Chinese University Wong Po-choi.

 

The lecture will be conducted in Cantonese. Tickets will be available from tomorrow at the library's 9/F Reference Services Counter. Call 2921 0285 for seat reservations.
