Special school closes due to swine flu

Department of Health

The Department of Health has advised Hong Chi Pinehill No. 3 School in Tai Po to suspend classes for seven days due to a human swine flu outbreak affecting 12 students and a staff member.

 

They developed flu-like illness symptoms since September 22. Eight of them required hospitalisation. All affected people are stable. Six students tested positive to human swine flu.

 

There were 773 newly confirmed cases of human swine flu in the 24 hours to 2.30pm today, bringing to 26,078 the total number of confirmed cases in Hong Kong.
